Volunteer Extraordinaire - Nan Peterson

Nan Peterson is one of Backyard GardenShare’s longest and most devoted volunteers. She's been involved with BGS since its infancy and has served the organization in a number of important ways.

Nan is a grower and a collector. Not only does she grow an abundance of fruits and vegetables in her own yard but she has become the neighborhood collection site.  She left flyers around her neighborhood years ago letting her neighbors know that she would collect fruits and produce and drop them off at a pantry like the Boys and Girls Club where the produce would be quickly used. Due to her contagious passion for food collection, she has signed up over a dozen collectors and community distribution sites around the Salt Lake Valley to expand the area that BGS can serve.  She graciously allows a neighbor, who has no space for a garden, to use two of her grow boxes and has taught her how to plant, maintain and harvest a garden. Nan also serves as the Secretary on the BGS Board of Directors.

Thanks Nan for all you do for BGS!
